This session aims to enrich sonographers with updated knowledge and practical insights into the application of international fetal growth standards—empowering participants to enhance diagnostic precision and improve maternal-fetal outcomes.

Distinguished Presenter

Professor Aris Papageorghiou (MBChB, MRCOG)
Professor of Fetal Medicine and Director of Research, Oxford Maternal and Perinatal Health Institute (OMPHI), University of Oxford.

Professor Papageorghiou is a world-renowned leader in maternal and perinatal health. His pioneering work encompasses fetal growth, pre-eclampsia, multiple pregnancies, fetal therapy, and the integration of artificial intelligence in pregnancy imaging.
As co-founder of Intelligent Ultrasound, an Oxford spin-out company advancing AI in medical imaging, he continues to bridge research and clinical practice.

With over 350 scientific publications and an h-index of 73, Professor Papageorghiou stands as one of the most influential figures in fetal medicine. He also serves as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of BJOG and National Chair of the UK Expert Working Group in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

GARMS is privileged to host him for this transformative learning experience, providing Ghanaian sonographers with the opportunity to engage directly with global expertise and evidence-based innovation.
