Prof. Wiafe Calls for Intensive Training in Fetal Echocardiography

During the GARMS Inaugural Annual Conference held in Kumasi, Professor Wiafe, Head of the Department of Medical Imaging at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and Ghana’s first Registered Medical Sonographer, made a compelling call for the intensification of fetal echocardiography training across the country.
In his address, Professor Wiafe emphasized the critical role fetal echocardiography plays in the early detection and management of congenital heart defects, stressing that increased focus on this specialized area of sonographic practice has the potential to significantly improve perinatal outcomes and save countless lives.
